The Royal College of Physicians for the Anti-Aging Conference in London
Anti-Aging Conference Royal College of Physicians London England - May 7th - 8th, 2005
NEW TREATMENT FOR A FOOT PROBLEM
LINKED TO NUMEROUS ARTHRITIC CONDITIONS
RECEIVEING WORLDWIDE ATTENSION

Dr James Stoxen DC became the first chiropractor to address an international audience of medical specialists on the "Stoxen Approach" to treating chronic arthritis at the prestigeous, Royal College of Physicians.  The presentation entitled Biomechanics – Excessive Pronation Syndrome. Abnormal Lower Extremity Biomechanics which Accelorate the Aging Process. Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention in London, England, May 8th, 2005 at the 2nd annual Anti-Aging Conference, London 2005, at the Royal College of Physicians in Conjunction with the (BSIM) Brittish Society of Integrated Medicine.  This is a synopsis of his visit to London.

Dr James Stoxen DC, was the first and only chiropractor to address this international audience at the Royal College of Physicians.  He addressed the international professionals from around world, including scientists, physicians, gerontologists, health care practitioners, medical centre directors, and clinic owners, and those interested and knowledgeable in the field of anti-ageing, preventative health care on the "Stoxen Approach" to treating chronic arthritis and “Pronation Syndrome, nicknamed “Destructive Foot Syndrome”.  His presentation topic fit the theme of the conference, “Anti-Aging From Head To Toe, all the Body's Systems“ perfectly.  Pronation Syndrome has been linked to more than 10 arthritic conditions which prematurely age the frame and cause a serious strain on all the body's systems.

After the presentation, Dr Stoxen was available for for several hours to meet with numerous medical physicians from around the world whom asked for more information.  He was even asked to treat some of the deligates.  Several of the deligates asked for Dr Stoxen to return to London in Septmber for an extensive week long workshop on the treatment techniques he has devised to care for pronation syndrome and other arthritic condtions he discussed in the 30 minute presentation.

Dr Stoxen, a chiropractor from Chicago and president of Team Doctors Treatment and Training Centers has received worldwide attention from the medical community.   He has been educating docors all over the world on the clinical observations he has made over 18 years. He has made breakthroughs in his efforts to design a treatment regime to rebuild arches of patients feet.

He has been the first chiropractor to speak at this medical conference and many others.  He was invited to speak at the recent international aging conference attended by over 4500 medical physicians in Las Vegas.  He revealed his new treatment plan to over 300 physicians at the famous Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok Thailand in February and will speak again to an estimated crowd of over 2000 physicians in Bali Indonesia in September.

His unique treatment method has become popular amongst top athletes and entertainers as over 200 professional athletes, Broadway performers and top recording artists have requested Stoxen's services this year alone.

Pronation Syndrome, “fallen arches” is caused by an excessive “rolling inward” of the heel and subsequent collapse of the arch causing a destructive path of wear and tear on the of ligaments muscles, tendons and joints of the kinematic chain from toe to head.  This abnormal biomechanical phenomenon has been linked to numerous arthritic conditions in the scientific literature such as bunions, plantar fascitis, heel spurs, shin splints, painful calf cramps, knee pain and arthritis, chondromalacia patella, hip pain and arthrosis, back pain and arthritis and chronic fatigue.  It has been suggested that pronation syndrome may even be misdiagnosed chronic fatigue syndrome, restless leg syndrome and myofascial pain syndrome.

Diet and exercise are the two most powerful and controllable ways to slow, stop or reverse the effects of aging however when you exercise with pronation syndrome”, movement can actually accelerate the aging process in the musculoskeletal system.  Severe calf cramps caused by abnormal mechanics make it difficult to return blood back to the heart and combined with the lack of exercise can cause an incredible strain on the body's system primarily the heart and circulatory system.

Wellness - Anti Aging Approach!
There is a profound paradigm shift going on right now in medicine, and it's the adoption of anti-aging methods to make medical practice more effective and pro-active. Anti-aging medicine is based on the early detection, prevention and reversal of age-related disease.  Dr Stoxen has developed a treatment approach that has goals for patients to acheive on their way to a more anti-aging lifestyle.  He presented this common sense approach to the audience in London at the Royal College of Physicians.

Dr. Stoxen, a chiropractor and director of Team Doctors Treatment and Training Center in Chicago, uses biomechanics a science of combining engineering with biology, to study movements of the hundreds of national and world champions athletes, he has worked with to determine risk factors to injury as well as improved performance. “Through a careful analysis of patients for the more simple abnormal mechanics can detect stresses, strains and abnormal movements on joints before any symptoms can even be seen in the patient.  This method of patient care provides doctors with the earliest detection of degenerative arthritic conditions available. Early intervention with the treatment techniques I have developed will allow the doctors to correct these common abnormal movement patterns to reduce the widespread stresses on multiple joints and body systems before any signs or symptoms can occur.  This is the true essence of what anti-aging medicine is about.

He states that he has noticed that the pattern of abnormal biomechanics of overpronation and the pattern of abnormal biomechanics of lower back pain are virtually identical and are almost a direct coorelation.  He is even prepared to make a statement to the medical physicians attending the convention that he feels that in his clinical experience that he feels that overpronation and its sister condition, oversupination are the principle risk factor for chronic mechanical lower back conditions.  Thats when he developed the "Stoxen Approach" to treating chronic arthritis to reverse these chronic conditions.

In his address to the medical community at the conference, Dr. Stoxen will present his treatment program which is unlike any care program currently employed.  “It has been thought that the arch could never be rebuilt.  That is no longer true. He will educate the doctors on the "Stoxen Approach" to treating chronic arthritis , the way he completely rebuilds the arch of the foot by hand and the rest of the lower half of the body. He will also discuss advancement in training shoe design to stabilize the heel in walking thus limiting overpronation.  He will also show video of rehabilitation and training techniques he has developed for strengthening the rebuilt arch. “This new foot reconstruction method is far more effective, enhances function and is more permanent than the current use of analgesics and orthodics which are only temporary and helpful when the inserts are employed” Stoxen exclaims. By reversing the overpronation syndrome, you can reverse numerous arthritic conditions, which will slow, stop and even reverse the effects of aging on the patient.

He has seen the causes and effects of lower-extremity issues in patients of all kinds, and this has only strengthened his conviction that his methods can play a vital role in anti-aging medicine today.  The topic was well received by the audience of primarily medical physicians.  Dr Stoxen was invited back to conduct a seminar for select doctors who wish to learn the techniques.  Please contact Dr James Stoxen DC if you are interested in attending a more extensive workshop in London on these treatment techniques sometime in late September, 2005.

The aim of the conference was to provide an opportunity to update delegates with academic, scientific and clinical knowledge as well as facilitating networking with other members of the medical and scientific community worldwide, while providing continuing medical accreditation.
